Many more questions branched off of the three above, but those are only for the ears of those who attend! :) So, next time, May 20th, we invite you to join!

What is Socrates Café?

Socrates Café was founded by National Bestselling author Christopher Phillips.
Socrates Café is a non-profit voluntary 'group', whom seek the truth. Meeting regularly, participants are given time to brainstorm questions to discuss. The group, upon consensus, begins the discussion with one question, but once we start... let your thoughts run wild!
And the discussion had begun!

Questions proposed in some of Mr. Phillips' first few cafés from his book Socrates Café: A Fresh Taste of Philosophy are listed below:
  • "What is insanity?"
  • "Why question?"
  • "Is there such a thing as human nature?"
  • "Does human nature vary across time and cultures?"
  • "When is life not worth living?"
  • "How can we overcome alienation?"
  • "Was it 'crazy' of Socrates to prefer death?"

The goal of the Café is to leave the discussion with much more questions than you arrived with. ;)

In the video bar below, the Youtube interviews will help you in understanding what we are about.

Welcome To The Socrates Café of Safety Harbor

Greetings!
It is with great pleasure that I announce the opening of our philosophical program: Socrates Café!
This program, founded by Christopher Phillips the author of the book Socrates Café, consists of weekly gatherings, with the purpose of sharing our differing opinions of 'on-the-spot-formulated' questions!
We will keep you updated on upcoming meetings and events!

Best Regards,

The Socrates Café Team @ Safety Harbor Public Library
